Former high school athletic director pleads not guilty to sex charges

Former Archbishop Carroll High School athletic director Francis Murphy pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges of unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of a minor.

Murphy was arrested in April for allegedly trying to solicit a sexual encounter with a former student at the Delaware County high school. The Archdiocese placed Murphy on administrative leave when the charges came to light. He waived a preliminary hearing last month and remains free on bail until the trial.
