Former high school athletic director pleads guilty to improper contact with teenage boy

    Former Archbishop Carroll High School Athletic Director Francis Murphy pleaded guilty yesterday to having improper contact with a teenage boy.

    Murphy is charged with unlawful contact or communication with a minor and corruption of a minor in connection with an encounter with a student who was leaving the school. He was arrested in the Spring after allegedly arranging to meet the student at an ice cream shop, the Delco Times reports.

    The teen sought out Murphy for help retrieving something from his locker after transferring out of the school for financial reasons. Murphy faces up to 14 years in prison.
