Former Eagles LB debuts new film at Doylestown theater

Former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter has debuted in his movie, “The North Star,” about a runaway slave in Bucks County.

The film premiered at the County Theater in Doylestown on Thursday. Trotter plays the lead role of Benjamin “Big Ben” Jones.

He arrived in a horse and carriage, but was late because he and the director were in court fighting an attempt by two of the film’s producers to block the premiere.

The men say they were cut out of postproduction. Ultimately, no injunction was granted and the premier went on. The lawsuit is still ongoing. The plaintiffs seek at least $175,000 each in compensatory damages and at least $1 million each in punitive damages.

Trotter says he’s found both football and acting require him to “be in the zone.”
