Flood watch issued for southeastern Pennsylvania counties

Heavy rain in the forecast for today has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flood watch, beginning at 3 p.m. through midnight.

The National Weather Service has issued the watch for Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

Heavy rain is expected for portions of northern Delaware and southeast Pennsylvania this afternoon and into the evening, with the potential for as much as 1.5 inches.

Phillyweather.net says the rain should taper off after 8 p.m. from southeast to northeast as a cold front passes through. Wind gusts between 35-40 miles per hour could make their way through the area as well.
