Flash flood warning in Central Pennsylvania

    The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning in Central Pennsylvania. There will be heavy rain from thunderstorms over Adams, Cumberland, East Central Franklin and Western York Counties.

    The warning is in effect through 5 p.m.

    Warning areas in Central Pennsylvania include Mechanicsburg, Shippensburg, and Gettysburg.

    Residents in these areas are warned to move to higher ground and take immediate precautions to stay protected if they live near creeks or streams.

    The National Weather Service recommends you be mindful not to attempt to cross swiftly flowing waters of unknown depth by foot or automobile.
