Flash flood warning continues for several area counties

    The rain started early Sunday morning and it continues to fall, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning for several area counties through 11:45 a.m.

    The National Weather Service has issued the flash flood warning for 19 counties, including Camden, Delaware and Philadelphia counties.

    Doppler radar indicated heavy rain and thunderstorms, scheduled to move slowly northeast over the region and capable of producing an additional one to two inches throughout the morning and into the afternoon.

    Showers and heavy rainfall were expected for later this evening, with three quarters and one inch of new rain possible.
