Five properties added to Philadelphia Register of Historic Places

Five city properties have been added to the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places, and Fishtown advocates are celebrating their big win.

Hidden City reports two of the five properties added to the list are Fishtown’s Penn Treaty Park and Kensington Soup Kitchen. The neighborhood hasn’t gotten a property added to the list since 1984.
So, Philadelphia, meet your most recently designated historical places:

Penn Treaty Park, Delaware and Columbia avenues
Kensington Soup Kitchen, 1036 Crease St.
    The Rotunda, 4014 Walnut St.
    1219 Spruce St.
    240 W. Tulpehocken St.
