Firefighters battle blaze at former elementary school

Philadelphia firefighters are battling a three-alarm blaze at the former Julia de Burgos Elementary School in North Philadelphia.

No injuries have been reported at the site, which shut in 2003 after first serving as the original Northeast High School and then Thomas Edison High School.

Action News was overhead in the chopper, and Philebrity posted these impressive photos. The school was profiled earlier this year by PlanPhilly in a report about old school buildings.
