Fire forces brief evacuation at Germantown High School

Students at Germantown High School were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out inside a school bathroom, according to officials with the Philadelphia Fire Department.

Executive Fire Chief Richard Davison said firefighters responded to 40 E. High St. at 1:16 p.m. after receiving a report of a fire in the girl’s third-floor bathroom. School employees extinguished the flames with a bucket of water, he said. The fire was under control by 1:24 p.m.

There were no reported injuries. The incident is under investigation.
