Finally tally shows Johnson wins 2nd District Council primary

    Six days later, the final tally is in. Kenyatta Johnson has won Philadelphia’s 2nd Councilmanic District Democratic primary. The final numbers show the Pennsylvania state representative won with a narrow lead over opponent Barbara Capozzi.

    The Inquirer reports absentee and provisional ballots gave Johnson a 53-vote lead, and even the 40 disputed ballots won’t change the race’s outcome. Final counts for the city’s close races began Friday.
