Fanfare as Blackhawks are welcomed home

The city of Philadelphia gave a hero’s welcome to it’s pee-wee super bowl champions.  Mayor Michael Nutter says the North Philly Blackhawks were brought from Philadelphia International Airport to their home field by police escort, which shocked a few of the young players.

“When the lights and sirens went on they started looking around and their coach said we’re not being pulled over that’s an escort, and they broke out in cheers it was just a whole, whole lot of fun,” Nutter said this morning.

Mayor Nutter says the city is very proud of the young people who have brought home a win in the national competition.
