Another round of minor coastal flooding is likely tonight, forecasters say.

It’s due to the development of an onshore flow and continuing high astronomical tides.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect, but forecasters say astronomical tides will drop as the new moon cycle decreases.

High tide along the oceanfront occur between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. and later along the back bays. Forecasters expect a surge around one foot above the astronomical tide.

Typically, the most vulnerable areas will experience inundation during a minor tidal flooding event.

“Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is,” the advisory warns. “You will be putting yourself in danger, and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.”
