Expansion excitement

State Sen. Larry Farnese said today he’s pleased with the FAA’s approval to allow the expansion of Philadelphia International Airport. Farnese sees the potential for the airport to help make the city a major international player.

The senator, who represents Southwest Philadelphia where part of the airport sits, says the expansion will not only add jobs, but bring regional and international business as well as tourism to Philadelphia.

He expressed hopefulness in the city’s ability to work with Tinicum Township, which would lose 72 homes to the expansion.
