Expanded homeless count finds more than 500 people on Philly streets

An expanded homeless count in Philadelphia found more than 500 people living on city streets.

Wednesday night’s count went beyond Center City, the Inquirer reports, to reach every city zip code. A preliminary count earlier this year found 370 homeless people — up from 352 last year.

Last May’s count found 528 people, and Wednesday’s turned up 583.
