Equipment stolen from youth sports league

    An estimated $20,000 in equipment has been stolen from the Overbrook Monarchs Youth Athletic Association. Practices for the fall teams are set to begin Aug. 1, but the West Philly organization’s storage trailer has been cleaned out.

    The Associated Press reports the thefts took place at some point over the weekend, and the thieves even took concession equipment like coolers and a deep fryer.

    Organization President Sonny Moore says local elected official have already offered to help.
