Entertainment venue coming to former Spaghetti Warehouse site
About the only thing you’ll recognize at the former Spaghetti Warehouse site once its transformation is complete will be some of the architecture.
The restaurant’s eclectic decor and faint smell of pasta sauce likely won’t be part of Union Transfer, the entertainment venue set to open there in September.
R5 Productions has announced plans for an all-ages venue that will accommodate around 600 people at the massive building at 10th and Spring Garden. The new use (and new name) is part of a partnership with Bowery Presents and Four Corners Management, which also owns Drinkers and Lucy’s Hat Shop.
Where’d the name come from? Before serving up spaghetti, the building served as a luggage depot station called, you guessed it, Union Transfer.
Shows start Sept. 21, and ticket sales begin this Saturday.
