Emergency workers rescue man trapped in Upper Darby manhole

Authorities say rescue crews have pulled a man to safety after he became trapped Monday morning in a manhole in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Officials in Delaware County say emergency responders were called to an Upper Darby block shortly after 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Crews managed to hoist the man from the 14-foot hole at about 11 a.m., authorities said. His condition wasn’t immediately available

Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the man was a resident or a worker.
