Eight local college students awarded White House internships

    A busy few months are ahead for the next wave of White House interns, and eight of them will represent the Philadelphia area.

    Among the college students and recent graduates chosen to work in one of 16 departments, eight are from the are or attend school here:

    Blyton, Karen Hometown: Malvern, Pa; Temple University
    Harden, Blake Hometown: Jacksonville, Fla; University of Pennsylvania
    Johnson, Stefan Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa; Villanova University
    Kauth, Anne Hometown: Saint Paul, Minn; Bryn Mawr College
    Muse, Queen Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa; La Salle University
    Reck, Nickolas Hometown: Douglassville, Pa; College of William and Mary, Va.
    Yoon, Stephanie Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa; New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies

    White House interns work alongside federal employees on matters like public affairs, domestic policy and digital strategy.
