21-year-old in critical condition after being shot on Midvale

A suburban Philadelphia man remains in critical condition after he was shot multiple times during a weekend robbery in East Falls, according to police.

On Jan. 28, the 21-year-old victim was confronted by a man on Midvale Avenue near Henry around 8:52 p.m., said police. The assailant shot him in the back and upper left leg before fleeing north on Henry Avenue with the victim’s backpack. 

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is currently recovering from surgery.

The shooter is described as a 5’10” black man between 20 and 25 years old who weighs approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket and a black skull cap during the Saturday shooting, said police.

The incident is the second armed robbery in East Falls in the past two weeks.

On Jan. 19, a 29-year-old man was approached while walking on the 3500 block of Indian Queen Lane around 8:12 p.m., according to police.

The offender ran off with the victim’s iPhone and wallet. There were no reported injuries.

The offender is described as a 5’10” Hispanic man between 18 and 20 years old. He was wearing a black hat, black “puffy” jacket and jeans at the time of the robbery.

Police are still searching for suspects in both incidents.
