Early morning accident causes power outages in Overbrook

Police are searching for the driver of an SUV that fled following an accident in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia early this morning.

The crash occurred at around 3 a.m. when authorities say the driver of the SUV lost control and struck a utility pole before crashing through a fence and coming to a stop against a house at 64th and Jefferson streets.

ABC6 reports that the force of the crash snapped the pole in half bringing down the area’s power lines. A passenger in the SUV was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and treated for minor injuries.
