Wilmington-based chemical giant DuPont will consolidate it’s current 23 businesses into 14, in an effort to streamline the decision making process and better respond to customer needs.  In a statement, DuPont CEO Ellen Kullman says, “DuPont will meet the economic recovery as a stronger, faster and more agile global competitor.”

The changes will affect a number of company leaders including executive vice president and chief financial officer Jeffrey Keefer. He’ll move to a new position in DuPont’s performance coatings business. Keefer will also oversee the development of corporate strategy. Keefer will remain as CFO until the end of October to ensure a smooth transition to the new CFO.
