Drexel scraps plans for California campus

No more California dreamin’ for Drexel.

The university is dropping its plans to build a second campus in northern California. But the classes it hosts there through a Sacramento facility will continue.

The nasty real estate market is partly to blame, the Associated Press reports, for the university’s decision not to build in Placer. When Drexel came upon 1,100 acres four years ago, the plan was to develop 600 and and use the other 500 to sell and partially develop to finance the construction.
