Dow moving about 350 employees from Philadelphia to suburbs
Dow Chemical is moving about 350 employees from Philadelphia’s Independence Mall to a suburban corporate center.
The move to Collegeville should be completed by the middle of 2016. It will combine researchers at the former Rohm & Haas Spring House facility in Montgomery County with business staff in Center City.
Dow spokeswoman Christine Miller tells The Philadelphia Inquirer the goal is to get the “center of gravity into one building.”
Philadelphia employees were told of the move in emails and staff meetings on Wednesday.
The landmark Rohm & Haas headquarters opened on Independence Mall in 1964. Part of it now operates as a beer garden.
