Discover N.W. Philadelphia’s favorite sledding hill

If you live in Northwest Philadelphia, you know a good snowstorm brings three things: idyllic winter scenes galore, days, if not weeks, of tricky driving on side streets, and, of course, world class sledding on Tommy’s Hill.The scene at the Thomas Mansion on Wissahickon Avenue in Blue Bell Hill was no disappointment after this week’s storm. Families from all over the Northwest came to enjoy the excitement when a thick bed of snow meets the perfect downhill run.To some, sledding may seem like kids’ stuff. But as NewsWorks Correspondent Bas Slabbers found out, for plenty more, winter just isn’t winter without a trip down Tommy’s Hill.
