A dragon-boat race and half marathon will affect traffic patterns along the Schuylkill River this weekend.

Kelly Drive will be closed from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday for the 8th annual Independence Dragon Boat Regatta.

The detour routes, as announced by police, are as follows:

Toward Center City: South up the Strawberry Mansion Drive ramp to Reservoir Drive, south on Reservoir Drive to Fountain Green Drive, west on Fountain Green Drive until it reaches Kelly Drive.

Toward Northwest Philadelphia: East on Fountain Green to Reservoir Drive, north on Reservoir Drive to Strawberry Mansion Drive, north on the Strawberry Drive ramp back to the Kelly Drive.

On Sunday, the ODDyssey Half Marathon will alter traffic on many streets in and near Fairmount Park.

Of particular note to Northwest Philadelphians is the MLK Drive closure from the Art Museum to Falls Bridge from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Kelly Drive (between Sedgley and Lincoln drives) from 6 to 11 a.m.
