Dentist pays $31,000 for John Lennon’s tooth

This story has no local ties and isn’t exactly breaking news. But it sure is strange, so we wanted to share it with you.

A dentist (who else) has forked over $31,000 for one of John Lennon’s teeth. The Canadian practitioner paid twice what the tooth was expected to sell for, NBC10 reports, and plans to display it in his office.

The tooth was given to Lennon’s housekeeper in the ’60s, as was the tradition then among rockers. Lennon had the thing removed and gifted to the woman, suggesting she share it with her daughter — a big Beatles fan. It remained in the family until the dentist purchased it.
