DelDOT will collect delinquent red-light camera fees

Beginning in October, if you run a red light in Delaware, not only will you get a ticket, you’ll really have to pay it.

DelDOT has announced its plan to crack down on delinquent red-light camera fees to increase its collection rate from the current 88 percent.

The Wilmington News Journal reports in- and out-of-state violators owe a collective $4.5 million. Come Oct. 1, the  $112.50 fine will come with a $10/month late fee. So if you’re going to run a red light, be prepared to pay up, and pay up on time. Otherwise, your case will be turned over to a collection agency and you risk having your vehicle registration placed on hold.
