Delaware teacher arrested for sex with student
Additional charges have been brought against a 38-year-old teacher at Sussex Tech High School, who is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year- old student.
Charles Coursey of Milton was arrested on charges of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust. State Police say he’d been having sex with a female student since the beginning of January. School officials tipped off police to the alleged relationship.
And now DSP says Coursey has also been charged with two counts of Dealing in Child Pornography and two counts of Obscenity after it was discovered the suspect texted obscene photos of himself to the victim. An exchange that, police say, initiated the inappropriate relationship.
In addition to his work at Sussex Tech, Coursey was also an assistant basketball coach at Wesley College. He’s been committed to Sussex Correctional Center on $80,000 bail.
