Delaware takes part in simulated nuclear incident exercise

Emergency responders today are taking part in an exercise that simulates an incident at a nuclear power plant.

The Delaware Emergency Management Agency says the event will help to test the ability of local organizations to prepare and respond in the event of an actual emergency.  Local fire companies, Delaware State Police, DelDOTand the state, New Castle County and Kent County Emergency Operations Centers will be involved, as will officials in New Jersey and PSEG Nuclear.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency will evaluate the efforts of the agencies and individuals involved in the exercise.
