Delaware gas prices rise for third straight week
Delaware motorists are paying eight cents a gallon more for gas on average compared to a week earlier.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says a gallon of unleaded regular now sells for about $3.54 in the First State. Gas prices have risen steadily since the start of July, after about three months of declines. AAA Mid-Atlantic Public Affairs Specialist Jana Tidwell says prices likely bottomed out in late June for the summer. Middle East tensions have affected the price of crude oil, accounting for the higher prices at the pumps. The national average is $3.47, which is also the average in South Jersey. In southeastern Pennsylvania, gas sells for an average of $3.62. Tidwell says gas prices are likely to remain in the $3.50 range through about Labor Day.
