Delaware County SPCA’s animal control service set to expire at midnight

If the Delaware County SPCA and the county cannot reach an agreement today, the SPCA’s animal control services will expire at midnight.

Talks between the two began last week when the Delco SPCA agreed to negotiate with the county about the extension of animal control services. Those services are set to expire July 1 in the county SPCA’s effort to become a no-kill shelter.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports both parties met for more than two hours yesterday, but a deal has not yet been reached. The county has offered to help pay for the services for an additional six months.
