Delaware City christens new fireboat

    Delaware City is expanding its fleet of marine firefighting equipment with a new fireboat.Delaware City Fire Company christened it new 34-foot marine firefighting vessel on Sunday.
    The Coast Guard Maritime Area Security Committee approved grant money in 2010 for the design and construction of the fireboat named “Never Forget.” It was completed last summer.Although it was formally dedicated this weekend, the fireboat was first deployed on Easter Sunday for a mulch fire near the Port of Wilmington.
