Defect causes Michelin to recall 77,000 bus tires

Though the recall doesn’t officially begin until April 30, tire manufacturer, Michelin North America Inc., is recalling three of its product models.

According to ABC News, a defect found in the sidewalls of the Michelin XZU2, XZU3 and XM505 tire models was said to be responsible for causing rapid deflation, which could increase the risk of a crash.

The company was forced to recall nearly 77,000 bus tires. The faulty tires were manufactured at Michelin’s South Carolina plant.
