New Year’s Eve celebration: Hollywood & Vienna

The fabulous New Year’s Eve tradition continues at the DSO, but this time with a Hollywood twist; your orchestra teams up with the Delaware Art Museum.  The first half of the program showcases music by Max Steiner, Maurice Jarre, John Williams, and many others.  The second half features the wonderful Strauss Viennese Waltzes and Polkas.  After the DSO’s concert, the festivities continue at the Delaware Art Museum.  Starting at 10:00PM the Museum will host an elegant celebration with champagne, delicious food, music, art and more.  Tickets ($100-$125) can be purchased by calling 302.351.8512.  

 

 

New Year’s Studio

Happy New Year! Get the party started by decorating your own sparkling 2012 crown! Delaware Children’s Museum, December 31st, 10 A.M., and January 1st  and 2nd, 10 A.M.

 

 

First Friday: Downtown Dover Mural

Visitors of all ages are invited to help the Museum decorate Sewell’s Studio with a scene of downtown Dover. Local artists have already begun drawing streets and their favorite buildings. Come join us and add your touch to this project! Biggs Museum of American Art, January 6th, 2 P.M.

 

 

Showstoppers!

Fantastic entertainment, fancy footwork, food & fun – a fine way to ring in 2012!  A group of talented vocalists take the stage at 9pm to perform a brand-new selection of unforgettable show-tunes. Immediately following, dance into the New Year with a live swing band led by Doug Yetter from 10pm to 1am.
