D.C. Councilman wants to rename Pennsylvania Avenue

Say it ain’t so!  It’s our claim to fame.

According to the Associated Press, Michael Brown, a council member in Washington D.C., wants to rename the famous Pennsylvania Avenue (where the White House is) in an effort to highlight the city’s lack of statehood.  Among the options on the online survey are Let D.C. Vote Way, 51st State Way and Free D.C. Avenue.

Didn’t anyone ever tell Councilman Brown that Pennsylvania isn’t a state?

    It’s a Commonwealth.
