When Dana Redd walked on stage, the audience greeted her with a standing ovation. The politicians and community leaders on stage had no shortage of kind words for Redd.
Redd noted that she’ll need the help of local and regional leaders as well as Camden residents, to address the city’s troubles.
Redd: If we remain faithful and persevere we can drive down the crime rate and not be declared the most dangerous city in America. if we remain faithful and preserve we can retain and attract a middle class tax base that will not only live in this city, but also spend money and drive the economy of this city.
Redd takes over a city that has been largely under state control since 2002. That oversight is set to expire in 2012.
