Dallas mayor disavows ‘key’ presentation to Vick

The accolades keep coming for Michael Vick. The NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year was also presented with the key to the city.

Of Dallas. Yes, that Dallas. Home of the Cowboys. Yes, those Cowboys.

Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway presented Vick with the key at a ceremony in Dallas in the days leading up to the Super Bowl. Caraway, a self-described animal lover, said he was pleased by the quarterback’s efforts to encourage kids to stay in school and away from drugs and other bad influences.

But as reported by 6abc.com, not everyone is happy about this newest honor. Including the actual mayor of Dallas, Tom Leppert. In a statement, Mayor Leppert said the presentation was made “without his knowledge and approval.”

Maybe Caraway will be thinking twice about this move — especially next season when the Eagles come in to Cowboys Stadium.
