Cumberland County Regional High School re-opens after gas leak

Cumberland County Regional High School closed today and no one was permitted on the property after a gas leak was detected. After finding the source of the leak, school officials say the grounds will re-open for after-school activities.

“CRHS is closed on Friday, October 14 due to a gas leak on school grounds.  No one will be permitted on school property until the issue has been addressed,” the announcement on the school’s website reads. “Consult our site periodically for updates.”

Update, 2:30 p.m. The high school will be open for after-school activities today, as the source of the leak has been found and removed. A gas propane tank adjacent to a building and used for science labs was leaking through a relief valve, the News of Cumberland County reports, and into an air intake vent.
