A judge in Wilmington has scheduled a 20-day trial for relatives of a Delaware courthouse gunman who are facing federal charges of conspiracy and stalking.

The judge on Monday set an Oct. 9, 2014 trial start date for former optometrist David Matusiewicz, his mother, Lenore, and his sister, Amy Gonzalez. The three are charged with conspiracy and stalking of David’s ex-wife, Christine Belford, resulting in her death.

Belford was killed in February by her former father-in-law, Thomas Matusiewicz, who also killed a friend of hers before exchanging gunfire with police and killing himself.

Thomas Matusiewicz’s family has denied knowing he planned to kill Belford.

David Matusiewicz pleaded guilty in 2009 to kidnapping the three daughters he had with Belford and taking them to Central America in a long-running custody dispute.
