Court date for alleged shooter at Strawberry Mansion rec center

    A preliminary hearing is scheduled today for Amir Jamal, the 18-year-old accused of a late-June shooting at a Strawberry Mansion rec center that left one man dead.

    Jamal faces murder charges for the death of 30-year-old Nyeme Taylor and attempted murder charges for the three children injured in the shooting. The incident occurred after an unauthorized private party at Mander Playground when Taylor was reportedly trying to defend his son in a fight against Jamal and others.
