Couple shot while returning home from dinner in West Oak Lane

A man and a woman are in stable condition after double shooting late Thursday night in West Oak Lane.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., officers from the 14th Police District responded to the 2100 block of 66th Avenue near Stenton Avenue after receiving multiple reports of shots fired.

Upon their arrival, police found residence a 31-year-old female suffering from two gunshot wounds to the back and a 33-year-old male with a single gunshot wound to the left leg.

Both were transported by police to Albert Einstein Medical Center for treatment.

Witness accounts

According to residents, the couple had just returned from a nearby fast-food restaurant and parked their car on nearby Gerry Street.

The victims were walking along 66th Avenue toward their residence when shots rang out. Police found the pair collapsed inside the house.

While no motive was immediately apparent, police found several shell casings on the sidewalk suggesting that a large caliber semi-automatic handgun was used in the shooting.

Chief Inspector Scott Small said that footage was obtained from external surveillance cameras present in the neighborhood.
