Council still weighing soda tax, Croce discusses Sixers’ future

Could the Sixers be sold? And to a young billionaire based in New York? Talks of a sale haven’t been confirmed, but ESPN has said a deal to sell the NBA team is “imminent.” We’ll hear tonight from former Sixers President Pat Croce to get his take on what a sale could mean for the team. You can get a sneak peek of the interview in the audio clip that’s attached.

NewsWorks Tonight begins at 6 p.m. on 91 FM.

We’ll lead off with a report from Tom MacDonald. He spent the day in City Hall where Council debated how it should help fund the School District of Philadelphia’s budget gap.

Later in the show, reporter Jen Howard talks to a female war vet. The Willingboro, N.J. native talks about her difficulty transitioning after her return home and how she found help and a home in Coatesville.

The Corbetts are getting puppies. The Pennsylvania governor and first lady will welcome two Airedale Terriers next month. What do you think they should name the pups?

We’ve got those stories and more for you tonight on 91 FM. You can also catch the show online, or later from our website.
