Corbett removes state employees with ties to Gosnell clinic investigation

Pa. Gov. Tom Corbett is trying to distance himself as best as possible from the grim discoveries in Dr. Kermit Gosnell’s West Philadelphia abortion clinic. After a grand jury report found spotty inspections by government health agencies, Corbett has removed six employees.

The Associated Press reports employees from the Department of Health and Department of State have been removed; some were allowed to resign, while others have been dismissed.

Others still have been suspended while Corbett’s aides investigate claims that workers failed to properly regulate the clinic’s procedures, allowing the facility to fall into disrepair, and ultimately, allowing Gosnell to murder viable infants.
