Contractor work cause of latest Levoy re-opening delay

The re-opening of Millville’s Levoy Theater has been delayed yet again, this time for contractor work.

The South Jersey theater has had a tumultuous ride after collapsing mid-construction more than a year ago.
“The Music Man” was set as the comeback performance this weekend, but the South Jersey Media Group reports the soft opening has been pushed back one month.

Construction is now expected to wrap up Sept. 1 – one week before the soft opening. The grand opening is scheduled for Sept. 22.

Rather than cancel this weekend’s performances, the theater has shifted the weekend shows to Lakeside Middle School.
