Concert planned to pay for repairs to Bridgeton’s Civil War statue

No longer missing but definitely damaged, the head of Bridgeton’s Civil War statue could cost as much as $75,000 to repair.

That’s why Mayor Albert Kelly announced yesterday a Civil War-era music concert to raise funds for restoring the statue in Veterans Memorial Park.

The statue’s head went missing in early December and was found days later with damage caused by vandals and weather. Four performers will play at the Feb. 11 concert.
