Common dolphin spotted in Ocean City

A common dolphin has now twice been spotted close to shore this week in Ocean City.

The Press of Atlantic City reports a six-foot common dolphin was spotted Tuesday. According to the report, it was seen lapping the Venetian Bayou Lagoon.

On Friday, the dolphin was again spotted, swimming around the floating docks and boat slips.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, bottlenose dolphins are commonly seen off Ocean City beaches during the summers. However, common dolphins are typically seen 20 miles or more at sea, but have been known to come closer to shore in the winter.
