Comedian urges Sixers to bring back Big Shot

Never has a team had so much attention on its mascot — especially when there isn’t even a mascot to be had.

Hip-Hop is gone and his three potential replacements are underwhelming. So local comedian Chris Morris has an idea for the new Sixers mascot — the old Sixers mascot.

Morris, son of legendary Philadelphia-area coach Speedy Morris and himself the former La Salle Explorers mascot, wants the NBA team to bring Big Shot out of retirement.

Morris tells KYW he has a personal connection with the big, blue guy. Big Shot visited him as a kid when Morris had surgery. He thinks that special connection makes him the perfect candidate to be Big Shot. There’s a Facebook page supporting his effort, naturally.
