Coatesville community raises funds to open city’s public pool

Coatesville has just one public pool. And without the help of community donors, it wouldn’t be operating this summer.

Fundraising efforts paid off yesterday when Brandywine Health Foundation, Bulldog Construction and other community members presented the city with a $36,000 check.

The Ash Park Pool opened June 18, the West Chester Daily Local reports, and will again house the city’s summer camp program run by the Brandywine YMCA.

The pool is one of only a few in Chester County.
