The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a fishing vessel that transmitted a mayday call early Sunday afternoon.

According to a release, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia received the mayday call over marine radio around 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

The call from a crew member on the fishing vessel “Interlude” stated that the boat was taking on water and heading into port.

The Coast Guard subsequently launched an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City, the cutter Ibis, and multiple assets from Station Atlantic City.

The agency did not provide a search area location.

Anyone with information should call Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay at 215-271-4940 or over marine radio channel 16.
