City to dismantle homeless encampment beneath Betsy Ross Bridge

A homeless encampment beneath the Betsy Ross Bridge in Port Richmond is getting the boot.

Its residents have been there for about four months, ever since Occupy Philly was dismantled and some of its members were subsequently kicked out from their new site under I-95.
City Paper reports the city is conducting “Operation Quality of Life” tomorrow, and bringing the Office of Supportive Housing along to help those who need shelter and addiction assistance.

Operation Quality of Life has apparently been around for a number of years and makes a habit out of dismantling homeless encampments. Who knew?
